William R. Schroeder
Obituary's Biography:
William Robert Schroeder, age 46, a resident of Crystal Lake passed away unexpectedly at home on September 30, 2024. He was born November 4, 1977, in Libertyville, IL to Evan Schroeder and Nancy Miltier.
Will entered the Air Force and proudly served our country for four years. He had a beautiful mind that often-sparked intense debates but also created a love of all things technology that led to a career in IT. Will thought nothing of taking apart a computer or phone to only rebuild it into something better. As much as he loved technology, nothing compared to the love he had for his beautiful daughter Ceres. He would often talk about how she was the best thing he ever did in his life and his pure, unconditional love for her shone through in every conversation. Everything he did in life was for her.
Will was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Schroeder and mother Nancy Miltier. He is survived by his father Evan (Judy) Schroeder, daughter Ceres Dewey, siblings Chad (Margaret) Schroeder, Michael (Amber) Schroeder, Jimmie Miltier, Michelle Kennedy, Charles Weekly and aunt Kim (Sam) Homer. Will was a very proud uncle to Ava and Mason and fur-dad to both Max and Lucy and dear cousin, friend and colleague to many. His death will leave a void in all of our hearts.
A visitation and funeral service are scheduled for Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm with the service commencing at 6:00pm. Interment will be held privately. For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.

Dear Family,
I am heartbroken to hear about Will’s passing. He was more than just a coworker to me; he was a friend whose kindness brightened every day. I’ll always remember our conversations and the way he had a knack for making everyone feel valued and appreciated.
Please know that my thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. I hope you find some comfort in the wonderful memories you have of him. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Sending you all my love and deepest condolences,
Sofia
He was a great guy devoted to his family and community. He will be missed.
Someone told me Will’s death was a “waste”. I totally disagree. He served his country honorably. He helped PaTrice raise a beautiful daughter. He gave Ceres all the love he could possibly give her. He has many friends and family members who love him and will not forget his sense of humor. They will smile or laugh when they remember some of the goofy things he did. Will touched many lives in his short time here and he will have an incredible legacy.
It’s mind boggling to me for him to have passed so young. Wil was so warm hearted and a proud father indeed. I remember him telling of the fire accident he has in his apartment & the love and memories of his mother and watching him be so loving and fun to his neice and nephew at his mother’s funeral. Brokenhearted, especially for Michael, his brother that I’ve know the best from this family. Death is horrible to experience and so much worse one right after another. I pray God holds all your family & friends hearts and cover you like only he can.
