Magdalen Jonker

Obituary's Biography:

Magdalen Jonker, 93, a resident of Round Lake Heights, IL, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.  She was born February 16, 1923 in Chicago.  Magdalen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake and served on the altar and rosary society.  She was a housewife and served as the first Treasurer of  Round Lake Heights from 1961-1982.  Magdalen is survived by her children John, James (Helen), Joseph, and Janet (Steve) Sanders, her grandchildren Alicia Jonker, Matthew Jonker, Nichlas Jonker, Adam Jonker, Steven Sanders, and Jennifer McKay, her great-grandchildren Gabriella Sanders, Wyatt Jonker, Magdalen McKay, and Ava Sanders.  She was preceded in death by her husband Johannes and her son Jeffrey.  A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 9:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church 114 N.
