Obituary's Biography:
Angelo Giovanni Gargano, 97, of Mundelein, passed away on February 6 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. He was born on July 4,1927 in Italy to Antonio and Sara Gargano.
Angelo is survived by his wife, Maria, of 72 years; his children, Anthony (Barbara) of Cheshire, CT, Joseph of Mundelein, and Stephen (Doreen) of Grayslake; his grandchildren, Anthony of Massapequa, NY, Maria (Daryl) Blaney of Framingham, MA, Joe of Northbrook, Amanda of Fontano, CA, Elaina Marie (Peter) of Grayslake, and Angelo (Calysta) of Grayslake; and his great grandchildren, Layla, Vincent, Andie, Giovanni, and Francesca. He was preceded in death by his son, Rosario J. Gargano.
A visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Sunday, February 16 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral and Interment Services will be held privately. We found out about Angelo’s passing yesterday evening, having been out of town. I will miss my neighbor Angelo. He taught me things: the Italian squash he used to grow, the stories of surviving WW2 in Sicily.
